Market for Dlask 13" or 14" Ithaca 37 barrel?

I just finished calling Dlask and asking about him making 14" barrels for Ithaca M37 12 gauge shotguns. He said he is very busy with various projects but would consider doing so if there appeared to be a market for it. Like any businessman he has to consider whether he'd be able to recoup his design and tooling costs. He said pricing would be around the same as the 870 bbls, about $300.
The early Ithaca shotguns required the barrels to be fitted to the receiver, but after s/n 855###, they all fit. I explained the threading method used to him and he requested someone provide a gun to him so he can examine the design.
Is there anyone in the Vancouver area who can drop an Ithaca M37 Featherlight off to him? Must be after that s/n break, no point giving him an early one.
He will be reading this thread when I send it to him.

Who is in for a barrel @ $300?

I'm number 1. Let's see if 50 of us can convince him to tool up for this project.

Arghh! I just closed the deal on an Ithaca 14" barrel after Dlask didn't answer my e-mail on getting a barrel made.

I'm still interested though. Why 14"? Unlike the 870 you can't add a mag extension so why not make it as short as possible, I think that 13" would look much nicer.

I'm in Ontario but I'd be willing to send him my 37 if it'll help.

If Dlask does it you have to tell him about the mag tube lug/stop thiningy.

Unlike the Remington which are all the same, the lug on the Ithaca changes with the size of the mag tube.

I'd be in for one except my mag tube is the same length as my 18" barrel.

Oh, it was you that got that barrel I was trying for eh?? ;)

I'm not stuck on 14", but when I had a 14" bbl on my Rem 870, I found I could actually knock over plates with it etc in matches with little loss of group, in other words, still a useful length. Hey, this Dlask thing may never happen if enough people don't sign on, at least you got an actual barrel.

You're right about the mag cap thing.
What about 13" threaded for choke tubes with a full and cylinder choke included and provision for ghost ring sights... :)

I know what you mean, the riot gun has a longer mag tube with 8 shot cap...kind of hard to see how a 13-14" bbl would work with that mag anyway though. The mag tubes can be changed out with little work anyway.

Don't feel too bad about it. A year or two ago I missed out on the exact same barrel from a guy that was only asking $150 for it. Still kicking myself for that one.

Does anyone know if those short shotgun shells (were they 1 3/4" or similar) that someone was talking about on here recently would function in an Ithaca action?

It's nice to see this moving forward. I am very impressed because I expected the price to be more. Nevertheless, I will be purchasing one.

Can anyone tell me what year production coincides with 855###???

It's not moving forward unless Dlask is convinced by us that it is economically feasible to design and produce such a barrel for enough people. Keep em coming guys.
