With all the chatter on here about quality of newer Marlins I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with the 1895 sbl? I have wanted one since they first appeared and since I cant afford a Wild West Guns product I am looking for input before I drop the cash. Thanks for reading, cheers to all.

As mentioned before look for the JM proof stamp on the barrel, instead of the REP.(Remlin)
Also look for a serial # that begins with atleast 91(2009 production)
I purchased mine just before xmas 2010, and there hasnt been a hitch come out of it yet...Awesome Rifle!:D(if you get a good one);)

I have looked a 5 different marlins in the last 2 weeks, two 336ss, 1 336bl, 1 336bl, and 1 1895ss. All of them have had off kilter sights. I think I'll stay away from new marlins for a while.
