Hey guys~feeling a "cheer-myself-up" gun purchase coming on
and the one I've been talking myself out of for some time is the Marlin 795. This gun will probably live most of it's life as a plinker (not hunter) and I'd FAR prefer to be running subsonic ammo. through it. Have any of you modified your rifles to be able to cycle subsonic ammo? I've read somewhere (can't find where) that you can cut a coil or two off of one (2?) of the springs inside and it will reliably cycle subsonic. Have any of you done it? How does it feed now?
Ideally, if that's possible, I'd like to be able to run both down the road so would you suggest getting a replacement (original length) spring(s)...or will everything cycle well once the mod is done?
Thanks for taking a moment to respond.
