Picked up a Marlin 925R yesterday, and took it out today. I wanted to see if I culd make myslef a "budget gun"(meaning I spent as little as possible) and I think I suceded.
The gun was topped with a Bushnell Sportsman 3-9x 32, and I was shooting American Eagle 40g Bulk pack.
At 25 yards, there was really no group, just one slightly oval hole.
At 50 yards, the group was less than 1/4 inch.
I switched to Federal copper plated 40g stuff and to my surprise the groups opened up a bit. Not that it really matters, the gun is for plinking and chickens in the fall.
The only thing I didn't like about the rifle was the 7 shot detachable mag, but I gonna try and get a bunch of 10's, even if their nickle plated.
The scope wasn't bad either, for 50$!!! But I think a Bushnell Banner in the 4-12 power range is in the near future. I definitely miss the adjustable objective on my other Banner scope.
I denifinitely had a blast knocking off empty shotgun shells and spent .308 shells.
