Marlin Canadian Tactical Troop

Ok now, listen.... I need to know where in Canada I can buy a smount mount for my Marlin! I want this thing to be setup to throw bid lead at long tactical ranges (woooo, 300 meters...). I heard on an "Xcesss" or something like taht mount, any one got one? I'd put quick release rings on there and have the best of both world. A long range tacticool boomer and a room clearing quick repeater to boot! So help me troop, where can I get such a thing???

I think TSE carries them... they are an XS dealer... (atleast, this is where i got my Ghost rings from)

Hey Crazey_Davey, thanks for the offer but that's not it. The scope mount goes ahead of the receiver, I think XS is mounted on furthest screw holes and in the dovetail for the Marlin rear sight. Makes a dandy quick pointing scope setup which increases accuracy at longer ranges and removes the possibilty of scope kisses with the 500 grainers! You need a scope with long eye relief and I believe they sell scopes specifically designed for this.

I'll let you know what I find out, fellow troopers!

Ya, I knew that was what you were looking for. Just thought I would let you know just in case ;)

Nearly Any pistol scope will do with the XS mount...
I have a 2.5x trophy LER on my 30-30, and you can get a 2-6 variable in the trophy, and 3200 line...
Burris makes LER scopes from 1X to 16 X with a host of varialbes and fixed power scopes between. Leupold also makes some very good LER scopes...
You have options :)

I'm waiting till I get out with my new long range tactical peep sight. Picked it up as well as brass, slugs and powder last week. So I too will give a report to my Marlin tactical/sniper brothers and sisters. by the way, remember this...Plaid is the original camo!

Will you guys get off this thread and go buy my 870 in the EE so I can order my Marlin?? Hurry up now! :p

"Tactical" (I hate that word) remingtons are the ones designated for LE like the 700P? Well I guess the 444P should fit the bill for me. :D

It will be a tactical rifle for me. My tactics are that where ever I carry that rifle, I'm coming home without getting eaten!

I'd love a Tactical Marlin in 45/70. :D

Start buy parkerizing a Marlin, then add a picatinny rail on the top, with an eotech sight, a flashlight under the barrel, with a laser, and you would have a "tactical" Marlin. :D

Ooooh actually stalk your prey.

That would be an unpleasant idea for the remington tacky-tickle shooter. If you are out and about stalking the prey, then how can you get in enough time standing around the bench bragging about the money you blew, err - invested, in that great long gun which is too heavy to move much farther than from the truck to the bench? :D

Oh boy, oh boy!!! Came home from work tonight and no one said a word. After a few hours home I opened the basement door and this longish box is sitting there. It has my name on it... Inside is my new to me Marlin 1895. It sports nice wood, no checkering (which I like a lot) and had been finished in a nice dark hue. Williams peep and ready to take on a scout mount.

I'm off to the rangre tomorrow and will likely post some pics as well....
