Has anyone dealt with the company that does Marlin's parts and warranty work up here? Its a company in Quebec called Gravell??? not sure of the spelling...
I have an XS-7 and Marlins recommended torque setting of 35 in-lbs for the rear action screw broke the plastic trigger guard that the action screw goes through. That torque is not in the manual but if you ask them its what they recommend. It seems to be a common problem.
I accidentally called the American service center. That guy confirmed the torque setting, and was about to send me a new guard with no hassles until
he found out I was from Canada. No problem, he gave me the proper number.
The woman I talked to would NOT send me the guard, says i have to send the gun to them or to a gunsmith so they can determine if the guard can safely be replaced by the user!!!!
I pointed out to her that the parts diagram in the manual shows that there is no requirement for that part to only be sent to a repair centre or gunsmith.
She said she was going to go downstairs, ask their smith if it was ok to send out the part, and call me back. Its been a couple hours, i'm afraid i am getting the run-around.
Does anyone else agree this is rediculous?
