It is the new Marlin 1895GS Trapper. Always tempted by the SBL as a basic woods/hiking back up gun but this might be too hard to resist. Never wanted the rail anyway.

Difference is 2". I'm sure it is a dream compared to the 12" Chiappa Ridge Runner

That would be cool , I'd buy one in a heart beat . In 45/70 , not so much . My 1895 G is short enough .

Just weighed my 1895G three times. All came up the same. 6 lbs 15.8 oz. Bare rifle, factory sights.
