I won't dispute the handiness of that gun. Killed my first couple deer with Dad's 760 in .30-06 I'd hunt with a 760/7600 any day of the week.

I think 220gr RNs would just about do it in a .308.

I did have a 35Rem rechambered to 358Win one time, but lost it to a river pirate in the Yukon.
