Here is a target that 303carbine shot with his new Marlin Giude Gun in 45-70. The small holes are from his P-14 in 303 caliber

Thanks again grouseman for pics. This target was shot with 420 grain gas checked cast bullets made by a local guy here on Vancouver Island, :shotgun: anyone interested in trying some can pm me for contact info for the cast bullets. The Marlin was scoped with a 4x Bushnell and the target was shot at 100 yards.:sniper:

Yes the Guide Guns are accurate. I have some targets from the previous owner of my GG which were shot at 100y (his words) - one target is a nice tight clover leaf and the other target is literally, one ragged hole. He was shooting lighter 300gr hand loads and I will be trying out some of my 350gr hand loads this weekend. I hope I get some favorable results.

So you got some loaded up did ya :) Post up how they work for ya....

the little Guide Guns do shoot...I had mine out the other day..shot one group with 350's that went about .75" at 100 yrds. and several other groups that were around 1.25" at 100yrds and nothing bigger than 2".....the groups opened up pretty quick when I stepped up the load......by the way mine is scoped..

Sounds like this one shoots just as good as your last one.:p:D

.

the last one definately shoots the 300's better.....I'm going to scope the cowboy to see what that one does with the 350's and the 300's....just don't seem to have enough time

cast bullets

I talked with the guy who casts these bullets and he said it was ok to post his contact info. So here it is, Doug Green (250) 748-2604 (BC)
I have some 320 gr, 420 gr and 520 grain with the same profile and they all cycle through the Marlin. My favorite is the 420 gr....
he does pistol bullets and 303 Brit too.......:D

How am I to decide if these bullets are what I am needing...

:needPics: of these bullets...

I will be heading over to Van Is very soon and would definately order some if they are of a design that I am interested in...

cast bullets

The 320's , 420's and 520's all have the crimp groove in the same spot and all allow cycling through the Marlin rifles. :D For those who cast their own,the bullet style is an RCBS flat nose with a gas check.

Nice shooting, hope my 444P does as well. :)

Do you know if he makes bullets for the 444 as well?
Yes he does. Two that I've started 'testing' in my Marlin 444s are both a Keith style SWC with gas check. A 250gr & a 325gr.
He makes a wide variety of bullets for numerous different calibre's. I started getting cast bullets from him for my .500 S&W as some of those components were somewhat hard to come by initially. I used to do all my own casting but with Doug's quality, availability, selection and reasonable prices there's not much sense in me doing it.
