marstar 70,000/10,000 SKS, eta aug 20th, price $189 new military.

Man, the SKS is going to become the new enfield in canada...
Yea, and these SKS rifles sound like they'll have some history, like the old enfields.
Although, it'll probably be a less inspiring history. Or are there still nazis in Africa?

Africa...? why people keep mentioning Africa.... ? is that where these rifles are from ..?
i highly doughted..... Probably russians.... left overs.... :):)

Become?

IMHO it already is. :dancingbanana:

Also I don't want to go through all the posts...so someone tell me the date these will be available for sale, and for how much, thanx. :D

Also I can only hope the SKS ammo situation doesn't go dry like the summer of 2007.

PS...South Africa makes some nice 7.62x39 ammo.
Hint hint.

I haven't bought an sks yet mostly becuase I've been broke this year. But if I can get one of the ones thats only been dropped once and hasn't been used I think I'd have to dust off the credit card for it.

Is there still plenty of surplus ammo for the sks? do I have to worry about that running out?

best bet would be one of the african countries that has adopted the SKS.

Algeria
Angola
Chad
Egypt
Ethiopia
Equatorial Guinea *1
Madagascar
Morocco
Mozambique
Republic of Guinea *3
Seychelles
Sierra Leone *2
Somolia
Sudan
Tanzania
Uganda

* would be my guess cos they are tropical and obscure corner of .....

I must say that I am not particularly interested in the orgin country..though I am interested in the orgin country these rifles were made in.....any hints there John??

Sierra Leone *2
Blood Diamond Rifle's!
Hot dang!
Now all we need is the press to report that it is our duty as Canadian's to own multiple of these rifles so that no more harm will come to the kids that mine the diamonds!
;)

Nice list, I would assume this would be a coastal country with port access, and not on the East coast. (Pirate trouble) Preferably on the West coast to expedite shipping.
And a country who has no UN sanctions imposed (not South Africa for sure), and not exactly out of the blues from recent wars, which the current regime is in need of desperate cash from overstocked weapon caches given during Soviet/Maoist aid.

My vote goes to Angola... closley followed by Mozambique.

Now John, are we going to see some special SKSs from that region?(Mozambique, Egyptian...)

Honestly, I'd be more concerned about getting the rifles moving (and outside of an extremely geopolically unstable part of the world) than trying to sort of which one is from where ... I wouldn't blame the Marstar crew at all for quickly sorting out what can be shipped to the (MUCH more lucrative) US market, then shipping the rest to the Canadian HQ to figure out exactly what they have, what's worth selling and what goes in the scrap heap/parts bins etc...
