The problem is "agents" of the Federal Government can and will continue to do this sort of thing without any real fear paying compensation. Remember.....they banned and seized many firearms when the new legislation was passed without compensation. We need property rights in Canada!

did I miss somthing or did john say when the meeting with the cfc. Is there still a hope in hell that we may get the fsn-01 in our hands? Can a firearm that has been deamed prohib be reversed to restrited? John can you shed some light on this?

That's a bad weld. Porosity isn't a good thing.

I say that Marstar & CanadaAmmo both start up class action lawsuit's against these bigot swine's that are the CFC & RCMP for the loss of revenue and the emotional and physical stress that this whole re-classification process is causing them!

There is no cause of action. Stress is not actionable.

I'd love to know what their justification is. The 12.5 and 12.4 lists are THE list. If it is not on it, and not a variant, and not full auto and has an FRT it cannot be prohib! Likewise, if it is manufactured, out of the factory with whatever barrel length, it is not prohib.

Enquiring minds want to know!

I've been scratching my head over this. Barring the Harper government issuing an OIC or amending the Firearms Act to prohibit or restrict these by name or change the definitions of prohibs and restricteds to encompass them, what the hell is the RCMP trying to accomplish here?

I went through nearly this same thing with my Dlask 8.5" shotgun. They switched it to restricted from non-restricted. I got so pissed off. I went through my MP to Stockwell Day who at the time was the Minister of Safety. Foolishly, I thought I could get some help from him in going up against the ignorant police chief's association that had spearheaded the switch. Stockwell Day said that it was in the interest of public safety and supported the arbitrary re-classiification.

Stockwell is filling another post now. Thankfully. But I sense the pressence of my old nemesis in these latest arbitrary reclassifications.

If John's meeting does not end up with the only right an true outcome then I will definately be heading for my MPs office.

It appears that the RCMP can do whatever they want. Its up to you to stop them and set things right.

Oh come on, you're kidding right? They are simply attempting to block the import of firearms that someone in their organization has deemed questionable, for whatever reasons. It's a sad situation really.......
Regardless, I do hope that the T97's get through.

I want names. I want to start writing some
Pointed letters to my mp, and some names would help. This person pulling the strings needs to know we are watching their bull#### decisions.

12(3) Converted Automatic has no list.

what part of "stick to the topic" you dont understand ?

The "seizures" part of the topic. Makes me want to have a seizure.

Honestly though, my support is henceforth pledged. My first act is to continue to resist the urge to call or email anyone (including Canam). I will patiently await my rifle or an email. Patience is a virtue.

Just so you know, I almost fell out of my chair when I found out about this matter. I have contacted Garry Breitkreuz, MP, about this matter and he and his office staff are looking into the entire thing with the re-classification of the CZ/VZ, etc, and is, "taking up the matter with the CPC immediately" according to his office.

Well, let’s hope that instead of changing their minds about the new guns they don't decide to make all VZ-58/CZ-858 prohibited.

Just trying to look at the potential worst case scenario.

Is anybody else wondering why, when we are in a full on economic crisis, that the RCMP/CFC/Canadian Government (whom ever it is!) are putting holds on or reclassifying tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise that will sell, or is already sold. The reclassification of these rifles alone would cost John and Marstar thousands of dollars in sales, and if this type of thing keeps happening it would cripple and or bankrupt many stores and dealers in the industry. How would that help a struggling economy?
The government should be embracing the fact that hundreds if not thousands of legal Canadian gun owners are ready and willing to spend their hard earned money on these types of rifles just because they look cool. They are clearly going the wrong direction with this, instead of classing more firearms as prohibited, they should be classing more as non-restricted, or restricted to make them more readily available to honest, and law abiding gun owners. I know it would be minuscule but it would put some money into the economy, and right now every little bit helps.

You have to remember that according to the liberal mindset, poverty causes crime. Desperate people turn to crime when they can't afford dogfood for their baby. Never mind that during the depression everyone had a gun and crime rates pretty much didn't change even though there were more people in poverty than at any time in American history. You can't convince someone with facts if they already know the truth. So these rifles, rather than being an economic boost, will actually allow more gun owners to run wild if the economy slumps even more. Which, of course, it will, since the Libs aren't in power and the Conservatives are doing everything wrong.
