Martini 310 Cadet bored to 357?

I'm jealous of those Martinis. Been keeping half an eye out for something similar or even a good deal on a 22lr without seeing anything I've been willing to meet the price for.

I wonder if the barrel could be set back and rechambered to 32-20 on some. A rebarrel or liner to 25-20 would make a sweet little gun too. Difficult to go wrong with the convenience of the 357 though.

Nice! I would make it half round half octagon myself - I like the looks, but also to help keep the weight down as much as possible.

I don't think you have to set the barrel back for 32-20, just run the reamer in.

I use 32-20 in my 310, only the rim is too thick and needs trimming
 
I called Ron Smith several years back and all he would say to me was "call me back in a year".
I assume that the charm school closed before he could finish the course.

I have a rebored Cadet in .357 that wouldn't eject after 4 or 5 rounds. Perhaps the chamber was crudded up and the fired case was jammed in it. I'll try again with powder coated bullets.
I bought a beautiful Cadet a couple of months back, but I won't see it until this weekend when my son brings it up. It comes with .32/20 amd .30 M1 dies, so reloading with common dies is possible.
A good bore is too precious to waste.

Ron is "getting on in years" and is slowing down. I called him about mine several years ago and he said "about 3 mos." and stupidly I didn't follow up at that time. When I called him back a couple of years ago he said something like 6 mos. and I figured, "Well-, why not. It's getting into winter and I might have it for late spring" so I sent it off. Got it back for Christmas! Seems he got a bee in his bonnet about just getting it done and tackled it pretty quickly. So he's a bit mercurial but if you can get him to do it before he retires complete or, worse, shuffles off this mortal coil", I'd go for it.

(Slug- I might be wrong but I may have bought my .310 from you back in 2004?)

Diopter, that's a nice little carbine! Williams peep sight on the back? Doesn't interfere with ejection?

I replaced the original front sight on mine with a green F.O. on a ramp, but still using the original "military" rear, which I must say is a work of art. I've sometimes thought of mounting a Willams "backwards" at the front of the action so that the aperture sits over the breech, might be an idea. Would look a little odd, though.
 
I know it's previous two owners. Neither one on them did the work. I believe it was Tommy Richardson (R.I.P.) who did the work.

I have an FP sight just like that one. Wonder if it could be mounted at the breech end (normal orientation, not as I suggested before). A little inletting of the forend would place the aperture bar right over the breech. Use a larger aperture and it shoud be good to go.

Such trim little rifles. Pity none of the Italian manufacturers has opted to make them again.

2004 I think. As I recall you're an accountant and at the time you were swamped with income tax jobs.
I have the same sight on a lg. frame P-H Martini in .22 Hornet.

Nope! Not an accountant. Just a humble drug dealer ( but legal).
Perhaps, we should have a photo gallery solely for Martinis.
We're getting a touch off topic.
