Anyone know who in Canada stocks this stuff?

Used it back in the 80s. Seemed to work pretty good.

Can't speak on marvelux but i also use wax or sawdust, i reduce smoke i light it on fire and stir it in.

Do you guys flux clean smelted lead in your casting pots? I never have, just stir with a wooden paint stick and toss anything that comes to the top.

I flux with wax when I smelt, but never in my casting pot.

Your wooden stick IS the flux.

If you have fluxed properly during your smelting you should be OK. Flux cleans impurities and acts as a reductant, helping redisolve material which has oxidized.

In the pot use wax which is a reductant only and not a true Flux.

Try Ellwood Epps ( site sponsor info@ellwoodepps.com) . If you're struggling PM me. I have it and use it. It's better (IMO) than ANYTHING else I've used in the last 40 years. It just melts, no fumes, no smell and you just use a very small amount.

I use it for maybe 10 years -still on first container and not even 1/4 gone. You need very, very little of it to work best.

I see it often on gun shows for cheap-PM me if you want me to pick some up for you.

If i don't bother fluxing what i do is scrap the top off the pot then toss everything into an empty beer can. Once it fills up half way or more i remelt everything in there and get a ingot or 2 from it of really hard lead that i use again.

Scored some from a fellow CGNer! Thanks.

Glad to hear lots of you like it and use it. I used it back in the 80s and thought it worked pretty good to.

Looking now at this 4# tube I picked up, It's probably more than I would use in 3 life times:eek:

If you're in need of some let me know.

UPDATE:

I tried some this morning and it works just like I remembered it did. No Fuss, No Muss, and most importantly to me. NO SMOKE.

A little dab will do ya.
