Match Chamber Cleaning Rod?

hi all, i’m looking for a cleaning rod for my cz match barrel. i have a one piece .22 rod but it’s to tight in the “match”chamber! bore tech makes a RF specific version but it’s like 175.00 by the time it gets to me…. crazy!

i’m wondering what others are doing that are in the same boat?
 
I use Tipton's "Deluxe 1-piece .22 to .26", 44 inch length. Works well in my Anschutz target rifle which is a match chamber.

I suspect that the chamber is irrelevant? I think all chambers are larger diameter than the lands in the rifle bore? If your rod won't fit into the chamber, it won't pass up the barrel, either.

The brand of cleaning rod I use is "Kleen Bore" - jags are by Tipton, but I do not know if the 8-32 threaded jag for .22 is for .222", .223" or .224" - you will find that thickness of patch might influence which jag that you chose to use - is not uncommon here to use 7mm jag in a 30 calibre bore with Butch's "Triple Twill" Patches - they might be thicker than other brands? I do have one ".22" jag with 8-32 threads that I thinned down on my lathe to use with Butch's patches.

it fits in the barrel but it tight to the point it scrapes the barrel. it did not do that with the cz pensil barrel. it was actually gouging the rod! scary

I've also noticed this with Butch's patches. I really like the material and I think it does a great job cleaning but, yeah, they're a little thicker than most other brands and don't fit the proper sized jag
 
"proper sized jag" - as I pointed out to a guy here, "proper" size is the one that fits correctly - about means nothing what is written on the package, if it don't fit with the patches that you want to use.
 
You need a .20 caliber rod. I use a Pro Shot stainless and a Tipton carbon fibre. You are correct these need a 5/32 jag. You can also use a 8/32 adaptor to accomodate the .22 caliber brushes. It is common knowledge among they guys shooting CZ guns with tite bores. dgb

For a CZ, you’ll probably want a 17/20cal rod.
 
The "CZ match" chamber is no less than 5.72mm (0.2252") at the shoulder, which is as small as permitted by CIP standards. This is not too tight for a .22LR cleaning rod, which will be less than .22" in diameter. The reason why some .22 rods don't work well in many CZ bolt .22LR regardless of model is because the CZ ejector interferes with the rod.



The best solution is to use a .20 cal cleaning rod which will clear the ejector. Pro Shot makes a very good one-piece stainless rod. Nordic Marksman is one site sponsor that carries them.

i might have to go this route. i just can’t justify 175$ for a bore tech rod! now to find something that won’t kill me on shipping! 64$ to ship a rod from two places because it’s “oversize” was really hoping amazon would come through for me, but no go.
 
I’m quite sure there will be a gun shop in BC that carries what you require! Belong to any club and someone might lend you one till you get yours. Dont forget the most important part!! The proper bore guide. Good luck
