Mauser Action

Well, IIRC, Mauser invented the bolt action, so in that sense yes. But his original design has been evolved substantially since then, so really the similarity is a conceptual/fundamental one only. It's not technically correct to call a Rem 700 - for example - a 'Mauser' action

No there are many copies of Mauser actions like the Ruger M77 and the CZ/Brno's etc but the Remington 700 is not
So What makes the Remington different? It's still a bolt action rifle.

A mauser action is characterized by 2 front locking lugs (sometimes a third rear lug), a gas shiels cocking piece with a 3 position flag safety and usually an internal receiver collar the barrel butts against. Most Mausers, aside from the earliest designs, are control round feed and have a full length claw extractor that also acts as a bolt guide rib. They also have the ejector housed in the bolt release, as opposed to the bolt face like most non-mauser guns.

Guns that don't have these features are NOT of the Mauser design. :)

If so it must be a Mauser action.

Thats like saying every car must be a FORD because model T was the first and therefore they are all fords....

Mauser action is just one type of bolt action design.... go and do some reading on the internet and you will answer your own question.
