I hope this is the correct forum?
This is For The Mauser Collectors .
Has anyone had a look at the Fourth Edition of Mauser Military Rifles of the World, by Robert W. D. Ball? Covering every Mauser model from 1871 to 1945.
I just worked a trade for this book and I am really pleased with the content.
It's 448 pages of pictures and information compared to the third edition with 367 pages. There appears to be more information about the sniper rifles than previous editions. There are more color pictures and they are all through the book not in sections like before. The fourth edition is thicker being 1 5/8" compared to the third edition 7/8".
If you are collecting Mausers or have an interest in them this book is one of the best out there. But to really get into Mausers one book doesn't tell it all you have to hunt around and get different books on the subject.
Third Edition ISBN :0-87349-617-5
Published by Krause Publications U.S.A.
Fourth Edition ISBN 13:978-0-89689-296-5
ISBN 10:0-89689-296-4
Fourth Edition is published by Gun Digest Books, China
I search for titles through abebooks for military titles that are of interest. If there is a book that I am interested in, I go to this site and it will list the sellers and availability in the US and Canada by price. Sometimes there are real bargains.
I hope this will be of interest to Mauser collectors.
