Diopter you have a nice collection of German firearms. I really like the G or K43 with that stock. I sild one for a friend of mine a little while ago and it was in great condition but had a very lite laminate stock. The byf 44 with the Kahles scope is really great. Is the scope body 1" or larger? I have a Kahles scope but it won't fit in a standard 1" set of rings.

Seriously, we are taking that 1935 FN Mauser out to the range together sometime this new year. Pit her side by side with my 1908 Brazilian and see how they do :D.

G/K43 stocks were issued light. Some German soldiers darken them and most capture guns were darkened too but original issue IS light.
The Kahles H4x60 is 26mm tube. Just a bit larger than 1".

You're on! BTW, I've been trying to convince my wife that the 1908 for $1500- from John's gun vault would make a great Christmas present. Let's just say I got a serious cold shoulder that day!

1500 is quit a bit stiff...

I bought one 15 years ago in new condition with matching bayo for $400.00.

This year I bought a 1935 Mauser with matching bayo in new condition for $490.00

They are still out there, just keep your eyes open.

Its kind of special with a sad story that goes with it.

It belonged to a guy that really liked to hunt and spend time in the outdoors with his son. He got an old gunsmith to build him a gun in his favorite caliber 7X57 and make a stock for it. He used it for a few years and then he got terminal cancer. While he was in St. John for treatment for cancer his son was so upset he broke into his locker and shot himself with one of his handguns. The RCMP and the father didn't want to see the guns destroyed so they came to me and asked if I would sell them for his wife. I sold all of them and bought this one because I also have a favorite caliber 7X57. Its extreme stock but it ment the world to a dying man, so I figured I would buy it and pass the story along to my grand children.

Considering the time period the work was done in, that rifle was considered the epitome of rifle ####.

Today, it would be like putting tail light wings from a 1958 Pontiac or cadillac on your Honda Civic.

That grip is surprisingly comfortable it it's the right length from the trigger for your finger.
