Mcmillan Stocks Sold!

So far I’ve read online ruger and sako - so I emailed them, they said they are indeed quitting multiple stocks and will be releasing a list soon of the stocks they no longer inlet. They will still offer them as solid blanks, but no inletting.... sounds handy.

That’s not encouraging. They built their business on variety. And it was far and away the best.

If the quote from ATRS I posted above has any merit, looks like Browning and even Savage may be on the chopping block too?

the delay will be shorter for those that can still get some the others too bad ... anyway at the price we re getting them it is starting to be a no for me ...

Sounds like they dropped the KS patterns, and quit a bunch of Winchester stuff.

From another forum:
“just tried ordering a McMillan Winchester Hunter stock. McM told me they are selling it as a flat top only; in fact they are selling ALL Win patterns as flat top only. The only Win inlets they are doing is for the Game Hunter, Scout, and Warden.”

I wonder what this means for stocks like Echols?

They should sell the unused molds to manners, or AG and get it over with.

D’Arcy has sent me a note in regards to this. They are still producing them, but want batch runs.

This looks like the beginning of the end. Fibreglass broom handles might be more up their alley it seems.

Well McMillan has had a good run... they made an excellent product for a long time and developed big military/police contracts... I am sure the owners are well off and the sale just packs the bank account more and they can now relax...

Hopefully the new owners can live up to all the whiners expectations...

On a $1000 stock. :)

No risk no fun...
I have inlet several composite stocks by hand/Dremel. No Problem just very labour intensive and commercially not viable.

Hope Mc Millans keep going strong with the new ownership. I was lucky to meet Kelly and Britainy Mc Millan in Ireland in 2019 at a Guardian shoot. We had a little stand with composite stocks next to Mc Millan exhibition. I really enjoyed a long chat with Kelly.
