MDI SLR receivers come loose.

Trigger installation

Well that video was more painful to watch than getting teeth pulled.

I'll let you in on a little secret.... it's called a slave pin. Comes included with your lower parts kit.

Ever thought of installing the disconnector and spring into the trigger using said included slave pin so the trigger, disconnector and spring are assembled BEFORE you try to install it into the trigger housing?

But I thought the self professed SLR Pro builder guy would already know that little trick.

The slave pin works wonders when installing the trigger group in an AR-15 as well.

Just a little pro tip for you. Yes, you're welcome.

Good luck next time. Maybe it won't be as painful.

Cheers

People don't know about the slave pin?? :O

That's one of the reasons an AR15 trigger is so easy to install!

You are Correct, but not all first time buyers have them with the kit or have extra pins to make it.

Nice try.

It took you a bit of time to come up with that reply.... *Sqr, spends all night frantically trying to come up with a reply that can make his mistakes look intentional*

But in the end I gotta give you credit. Your move was well played.

Canadian manufacturers are really attacked on here sometimes. It amazes me that Canadian companies will even build guns anymore. They make pennies on their dollars and are #### on constantly for their efforts. I don't think they all make perfect guns....but they at least deserve props for even trying.

LOL @ pennies on the dollar. The BCL102 went from $1,850.00 to $1,550.00 the moment their sales dropped. I can assure you this reduction in price isn't a result of any "production efficiencies", rather, they're still able to sell these rifles at this lower price and turn a decent profit.

Don't kid yourself, these Canadian gun companies are doing just fine. They wouldn't be in business if there wasn't money to be made.

Lots of speculation, pretty thin on facts, like all of these threads that degenerate into a Witch Hunt...and that's what they pretty much all become. A new item/design/widget has some problems that need to be worked out, welcome to planet Earth! When has it ever been different? Allow me to remind all of you that you are buying a few parts that may not be completely compatible with your parts. An example being the tight pin holes, I'd put money on it that a large number of us have LPK's that came from the same place. How do we know that the problem isn't with a slightly oversized pin supplied with a VERY common LPK? We don't, and unless someone starts posting pics of pins and calipers, it's open to speculation. So if you're feeling angry about some other guys SLR set, sit back, have a Downer, Toke, Whiskey, or whatever allows you to relax, because it appears that other than a couple of bolts that need some attention (and easily rectified for a few $$) most of these are going together and working fine.

If anyone is so disappointed in their SLR set that they can't stand to look at it I have a low mileage Battle Rifle and a few other items I'd gladly swap for it.

To actually get a solid picture you would need a machinist with a micrometer. I only ever use calipers on runup or loose measurements. Its extremely easy to squeeze 2 or 3 thou (or more, depending on what kind f shape they're in, where on the blades you choose to measure, and the experience level of the person using them.) out of a set of calipers. This also assuming that they are an accurate set to begin with. Calipers suck.

We used to regularily get accused of improperly spec parts by overseas rig pigs trying to take a measurement with dirty calipers at a 15 degree angle. (we all know the hypotenuse is the longest side of a triangle) I've now started taking pictures of the old and newly manufactured part side by side with my thumb included as reference. (Yes. They actually have done that before.) Mockery is fun.

I respect your opinion even though I disagree with this narrative. BCL may have changed their prices to keep from going under. There are many gun manufacturing companies who are struggling to stay open. If the parts they make are truly made in Canada there is little room for them on profit.
