MDT ACC (Adjustable Core Competition) Chassis @ SHOT 2019

It's definitely one of the best PRS-specific chassis out there right now. A few of us have been running them since about mid-fall and it really does tick all the boxes for that kind of shooting.
 
Hey I know that guy! Also, the ACC is built from the ground up for PRS/NRL matches, with all the coolest features that people were asking for (RRS/Arca dovetail forend, m-lok slots, weight tuning system, adjustability out the ying-yang, aftermarket action compatibility, etc.) and it's taking off! Let me know if you guys/girls have any questions on it.
 
IMO, first decent chassis offering from MDT. I like where they are heading. All their previous stuff seemed cheap and unrefined. This chassis actually looks worth considering for those in the chassis market.
 
All that talk of extra weight(s). I gotta lose 20 pounds myself! :evil:

I’m super happy with my ESS....now I need another chassis? I gotta get good and practice lots with my current ESS

I think my heavy barrel, ESS chassis, big scope rifle with bipod is 16.5lbs IIRC + loaded mag. I’d expect a typical PRS style rig to be in the 14-19lbs range before any additional weights.

I really like that ACC chassis, if I had the scratch I’d build one but it’s not as if my rifle is the reason I’m not winning matches :p:rolleyes:

Why do you think the change over the last few years? Better recoil characteristics with the extra pounds? Balance?

Recoil, balance and the ability a heavier rifle has to just "settle" on target faster. The recoil part is a bit self-evident although a good muzzle brake really tames most of the jump and recoil forces but the extra weight does help. The balance part is pretty key, with weight kits you can set your rifle up to balance exactly where you want much more easily than having to figure out what barrel profile you want or screwing with diy added weights. The part about the rifle "settling" for lack of a better term is often overlooked but really is one of the keys of the added weight. I honestly can't explain why a heavier rifle settles faster on a bag but it definitely does.
 
Got mine a little while back. LH M700 bolted right in and feeds great. Even resting on them, or jambed into a barricade, no mag related hang ups. Only one range trip in, but I'm already a big fan. Really great ergos with the vertical grip, and well thought out features for the PRS game. My barrel is a fairly light contour- Rem Varmint- so the additional weights are truly awesome for balancing out the complete setup.

That said, MDT #### the bed on the M700/Ultimatum inlet and I know some very frustrated customers.

You mean Rem 700 and Ultimatum inlet? The Ultimatum needs a slightly different inlet than a Rem 700 or clone. I run a R700, a Defiance and a Nucleus in ACCs with no issues, the Ultimatum isn't a true "clone" though.
