Meaford Long Range Steel Challenge Presented by PGW Defense

Squadding is not active yet and will not be until closer to the event in case something changes and we need to change the number of squads. Then groups would potentially get re-arranged and people would not be happy.

Participants, please note the following changes to the match:

1) The match will now be held on the artillery pads (same as last year)

2) Additional caliber restrictions have been put in place due to other other activities taking place at the training area. We are restricted to calibers up to 308 Win. (150-168gr. bullets) and smaller. Cartridges in .22, 6mm, 6.5mm and 7mm with cases the same size or smaller than 308 Win. are ok to use.

3) Hot loaded ammo is strictly prohibited.

If you have any questions regarding this, please fee free to contact us at kris@psoc.ca

####. I guess the 400 Berger 175 grain bullets I just bought are useless to me now.....

Sorry guys, we have to work within the template we are given. There are other activities happening at the facility and it is what was necessary to avoid having to cancel the match altogether. We are grateful that a solution was found that avoided that.

I'm in a similar but more expensive boat. Building an entire rifle that I can't shoot now. Lol.
Not the end of the world. Shoot my 223 again.

Clearly the solution to the 308 guys is to run the 155 scenars at high speeds or the new 168gr eld-m bullets.

It sucks about the rule change but at least the match is still going on.

I'm guessing the 155's at high speeds might be considered a hot load.

Heard some good things about the 168 ELD-M, so that looks like where I'm headed....

I have always liked the Hornady offerings. I took a look at the BCs and the 168 ELD-Ms look better than the Bergers.

They are a bit cheaper too (as Bergers are way to expensive). Hopefully you get a new load sorted in time for the match.

Plenty of time to try new things. Not sure if the Hornady bullets are as consistent as the Bergers.

Can also shoot the 175s in New Hampshire in July, so not a loss overall.

That is so awesome they let you shoot at the artillery range. The Edmonton base isn't quite as accommodating. That said when I asked I only asked about the rifle range and not the artillery area.

The Edmonton Garrison doesn't have an artillery range. You would have to head out to Wainwright or Suffield for the big boomers.

We are still looking for range staff. Please contact myself or Ryan if you are interested. Meals and accommodations will be provided.

I'm ready.

If I recall correctly it was about 6pm when I got on the road. I would suggest you aim for the latest flight you can to give yourself a good buffer.
