Never pass up an anmial good enough for the freezer. Always have lots of game meat in the freezer, including different kinds of game sausages.

Trophy hunters=Vegetarian hunters ?

I voted "meat" because there isn't a "Both" or "just plain hunter" category. How selective I am depends on the number of tags I have, amount of meat in the freezer, and the number of hunting days I can get out before the season ends. Best of all worlds is having a doe and antlered tag. Put a doe in the freezer, then keep having fun hunting with no pressure to pull the trigger.

meat 1st,trophy later,if no trophy then more meat.If it's the 1st week of archery or rifle I will pass on smaller bucks or does, but no matter the size,to me,when it comes to hunting,"meat is meat is meat".It all looks the same in the freezer!

I fit in both or neither category depending on your point of view. I will pass on does and fawns if I know there is a Buck that needs killing in the area.
We manage our properties so some years we will kill either by ### and/or age group depending on the numbers and ratio... this allows us to harvest many large antlered Bucks!
The ones with nice racks have meat on them too.....;)

To start the season, its all about horns. Once november hits, the first large doe goes in the freezer and although we can take 2 does in our area I hold out for horns. That being said, after 8yrs bow hunting, I finally took my first buck this year. 260lbs of old shoe leather but it still tastes great to me!:D

I fit in neither catergory

for moose, I am not choosy and will take the first legal bull to cross my path

for deer, I used to shoot the first buck I saw, but after a few years I began passing up smaller bucks in hope for a mature animal

I like to shoot big bears and will never shoot a small one ever again

This year I took the first buck I saw and then passed up on many others, a few of them were near maturity.

as long as we get out into the field and enjoy our time, who cares

We can get multiple tags in this part of Ontario. I had one good for antlered deer and one good for antlerless. Early in the season I took the first legal animal I could, a small buck with a single drop tine on the left and a button on the right. I still havent filled the antlerless tag and there are only 3 days left in the season. If I had held out for some bigger antlers, the freezer would be pretty empty. If I had filled the doe tag first though, I might have been somewhat more inclined to wait for a nicer rack.

I would say trophy for the most part but I make good use of the meat at the same time too. I was raised a meat hunter. What fun is it to fill your tag first day out all the time? To me, hunting isn't all about the killing. It's going out with friends, or by yourself and leaving that nasty job for a bit to try and relax. Getting back to the basics of life. Come late November I will start to rethink things if we are in a bind for vittles.
I just love Antler soup! It is a reminder of the many adventures I've had afield and the good times with friends. The memories that don't fade even if the meat supply in the freezer does.

It's nice to be able to take something with a big rack, but buck or doe, it all gets eaten. In the areas that I usually hunt the buck tags are limited entry draw, so I always like to get a doe tag or two for jerky and sausage for the winter.

Can't brag about my trophy hunter skills. I happened to hunt large antlers because they came into my sights. In the woods I hunt is really hard to pick from a herd. So if I get a shot, I take it. That makes me a meat hunter?

I'm a wegetawian. I only hunt fow spowt.
