MERGED. Type 81 is on its way to Canada. Classed as RESTRICTED

The FRT for the Type 81 has been updated.

Restricted:
160486-1 in 7.62X39, 5/5 round mag, 441mm barrel
160486-2 in 7.62X39, 5/30 round mag, 441mm barrel

Non-Restricted
160486-3 in 7.62X39, 5 round mag, 475mm barrel
160486-4 in 7.62X39, 5 round mag, 575mm barrel

The update is the addition of the two non-restricted barrel length entries.

So the two NR types that have been entered have an 18.7008 inch barrel (-3 entry), and a 22.6378 inch barrel (-4 entry). I hope that means the LMG version is coming along with the carbine version all at once.

I hear the first shipment is sitting in a shipping container at the Vancouver customs docks.

I'm serious.

That's really fantastic. Really looking forward to seeing these landed.

Hopefully is CanAm that has em first, It would be in my hands the next day :)

I doubt it. More likely will be TI. Everyone else will probably be playing catch up. With any luck this will be like the m305. Each importer will have their own brand. Between Polytech with TI, Dominion Arms with Canam, Norinco with Marstar and Emei with North Sylva I could see everyone having a supply line. Just a guess though based on what already exists.

What kind of support do you guys think will be in place for aftermarket or OEM parts? I'm thinking spare mags, firing pins, scope mounts/rails etc?

I guess some of you miss the sarcasm aspect of "I'm serious" I was making a joke. :) Hopefully they show up soon, but I somehow think it's not as simple as ordering Dominos. :)

Same as any other gun. Look at the type 97 as an example. Someone will make rails. Others wood furniture. AK mags work. I'm sure oem mags will be imported as well.

Meant when they're landed. I guess nobody is trying to get their hands on samples for prototypes until they see how the market receives them.
