MERGED. Type 81 is on its way to Canada. Classed as RESTRICTED

Some photos I saved from a Guns and Ammo review that now seems to be gone.

I want this exact same one^^^^^

I like the top one with a fixed rifle stock (not an LMG clubfoot stock). Hopefully there will be options other than chinese Chu-wood furniture.

Are these the models we could be getting here.

Sure. Maybe.

It got approved two days ago as far as can be told. Dealers are in talks now to import them. Only those dealers know what they will bring.

Existing versions are restricted rifles with fixed and folding stocks, and the lmg version. The lmg would already be NR.

I'm sure importers will want rifles with slightly linger barrels to be NR.

That would be the logical answer. But nothing has yet been said by anything regarding what is coming.

It just got approved. It will be a few months before anything gets here.

They look fu@ken cool . I want one of each

That underfolder looks cool too.

Interesting how some guns have a selector switch safety and others don't have one visible in the pictures.

The ones with no selector on the side seem to have something behind the trigger inside the trigger guard.

I figured the RCMP would've kept this rifle in limbo indefinitely. Great news indeed! :) Keep the retail price in the VZ-58/Type-97 range and it should sell like hotcakes. I can definitely see adding an LMG, NR rifle and standard restricted models to the collection. Price will decide its fate now that the RCMP have issued the FRT.
