Middle of the road 6.5

I was going to blame it on the rotation of the earth but I’ll let you fall on your sword
The sun's apparent movement behind the cloud may well have been due to the rotation of the earth. Even an apparent wind blowing the cloud the other way probably has something to do with planetary rotation.

That shot to the left was my fault. The sun started to slip behind a cloud which reduced the solar parallax, shifting slightly to the west. A rookie mistake on my part.
I had to google that one. lol. As the world turns.
The reason I asked was I had 6.5 Swede and a .280 in Encore frames drop an inch low and an inch right on the third no matter what the powder charge, the first two would touch and I thought maybe this barrel was showing this characteristic.
Even so, at the distance your shooting this is an excellent group.

The 260Rem is a very good "middle of the road" round, as is the Creedmoor. My F class rifles were 260Rem Ackley. This boosts the capacity of the 308 cases to about the same as the 6.5x55.

The 260 Ackley is a short fat 6.5x55 that uses 308 brass (or 260 Rem brass. Cheap and very available.

Both great choices for a short action rifle.
