Hi guys,
I've been looking around for a while now, for a high magnification, large scope especially for .308 load development. I don't want to spend a huge pile of cash, but I don't wanna buy junk either. I believe A guy doesn't have to buy the top name stuff for top price to get something good. What come s to mind, and what i've picked up recently is the Mueller APV and Eradicator. They are excellent scopes for their price IMO, and one is on my 10/22, and the other on my .17 BSEV. So with that in mind, what do you guys think of the Millett LRS-1? I've seen one at WholeSale sports in Winnipeg, and was able to handle it, but there's only so much you get out of looking at something like that in the store. What do you think of the quality at full zoom? And does it track well, shift zero throughout the zoom range? Basically I wanna use it for building the best load i can for my Savage Model 12 BVSS, and once I have the load down pat for the long ranges I wanna shoot at (500+ Meters), then i'll put the Leatherwood M-1000 ARTII back on it, and get it set up for the ranging.
SO, what's your opinions? are there any other cheaper options that may work for me? IE: Sightmark, Counter Sniper 10-40x56, CCOP 6-24x56, CCOP 8-32x56?
Or the Millett TRS 4-16x50?
further more, anyone out there have a high mag variable power scope that they may wanna part with, that would suit my needs? LMK, and thanks for all your input. I had a chance at one (LRS-1) that was listed yesterday morning the EE, and was the first to respond for sure, as I responded id take it one minute after it was posted, but the buyer reneged on it.... :-( At this time I only have around 300.00 to spend, but have some items i could trade along with cash, maybe.
Ginnz.
