Milo gun range

Great info here. I will try to come out to an event to see if it's worth the waitlist and price. Still quite a far drive to Milo from the north end so I'm contemplating Drumheller or RMH range.

Anyone know how long the current waitlist is?

From what I understand, your chances of getting in for the 2019 season are slim to none, but pretty decent for 2020 if you get your name on the wait list soon.

RMH has no wait list, and is cheaper but it is further.

it does go out to 600m too. and has a 3d archery range

Do they allow pistols?

Joka can correct me if I am wrong I think there are 8 (maybe 10 now) pistol bays out at Milo.

The Calgary location also allows pistols.

If you are interested in steel challenge they are great about newbies. Joka gave me my first taste 3 years ago and they are great.

Bays 3-8 are our multi-use bays. You can shoot your own (Club approved) steel with pistols, and pistol caliber/rimfire rifles. You can shoot paper with anything up to .308 Win. (Including shotgun, just no arial clays) in those bays as well. The new rimfire plinking range I'm not sure about, can you shoot pistols there Joka?

You can also shoot pistols at the 300/400/500m steel gongs. I tried it once, but it was a little too windy, and a little too far away, haha.

The 4 new multi-use bays are just about complete now (They look incredible, check them out the next time any of you are there), we're essentially just waiting on CFO approval. They're double wide (Like range 3), but deeper I think. 3-gun (Hopefully next year) is gonna be crazy!

Yes you can shoot 22lr pistol in the plinking range.
Yes, pistols allow on range 3-8 and soon 11-15 (5 new massive bays)
Pistol also allow at shepard range

I'm contemplating Drumheller

I'm north of the city so I was considering Drumheller, but they're not accepting new members that aren't local (<70km). The only way for a non local to join is to be sponsored by a local.... so if you're looking North, it's probably RMH Range which is quite the long haul.

If you were a frequent range user that lived in Calgary the extra amount of gas to get to RMH would be more than the extra membership costs of CDTSA.

The APRA should open things up...
