Milsurp for hunting? Whos who?!

It would certainly need a higher front sight to get it zeroed at a hunting range, but I have a Starr percussion carbine in fine shooting condition that would be fun to try. I've shot it with .562" round balls and Lee .54 REAL bullets. I've not made cartridges, just seat the lubricated bullet, fill the chamber with powder, close and cap. But it does shoot really high.
 
When I was young, had zero income and lots of spare time to hunt I used milsurp rifles because those were the only options available to me.

I don’t any more.
