Milsurp postal match-Rules p.4!

All targets must be shot at 100 METERS. my bad...

Hitzy, consider the frontal support as the parapet in a trench. As far as 1955, there had to be a a cutoff somewhere, and 1955 seems fair.

BTW 8x56S shall be considered "unobtanium", handloads for this caliber are fairgame:D

Thanks Ollie,

I will get my MN, No1MkIII and No4Mk1 out.8)

Would my M1Carbine be excluded because it is a Bavarian Police model?

ollie,

It's your game and your rules! Thanks for the idea and the effort! This should be fun for everyone. I've got two M1's, a 1903A3 or maybe a .30 cal carbine that I could use. How about what everyone else will fire?

Ollie, the range where myself and other Manitoba gunnutz shoot at coughthatmeansyoucough is graduated in yards, perhaps shooting at 100 yards might be better. :p

Stepp,

If its a USGI manufacture, then no it wouldn't be excluded. If its an Erma post-war then maybe you will still need Ollie's permission ;)

Maybe we could have a 3 round shooting off-hand target too. It would give those that don't think 5 rounds from a rest is not hard enough. Slings and arms only perhaps.

It would be nice to mix in at least one service shooting position.....standing sounds good to me.
Also, the no reloading rule should be tossed. Some of the guns folks shoot might be in common calibers but they are 90-100 years old. These are milsurps, not benchrest rifles. There would be no measurable advantage using handloads.....plus, factory ammo is expensive, which is the reason most folks handload to begin with.

I am in and here is my $.02 worth. As issued millsurp: any military rifle of 1955 or earlier vintage with original reciever, barrel, sights, trigger, stocks may be cut down but no replacement sporters. (This will give all the cut down millsurps a chance to play). 100 yards or meters will work. Ammo: what ever you want to shoot. Have one target that is shot prone, standing or sitting. Have this target scored for value such as bulleye. If you want to shoot off bench have this target scored for smallest group.

Well ..lets keep this easy for the 1st postal match and go with Ollies rules on page 4 . They're good for everybody and everybody has the same chance.
I'm sure there's a few of us ol'boys that has a touch of arthritus and have a prob with a freestanding shot AND will allow any disabled shooters the same chance as well.

This idea sounds great, though I wonder if it would be allowable to use my M1Carbine with non-restricted barrel? It's otherwise as issue........pretty please, with sugar on top!!!!!

P.S. I've got other rifles if this one won't count.

I havent recieved any mails yet! Where are all your targets? I'm gonna win by default if you guys don't get shootin...Remember to send em to cgnmilsurpshoot@hotmail.com!

sorry bead, to keep this ultra hassle free, I'd like the guns to be pure milsurps. If this works out, I'll do it again in the future with more broad categories and classes. Happy shootin!
