I'm just getting my feet wet in the milsurp world. I kind of fell into it accidentally. A buddy was selling off his hunting rifles and said "here, buy these too, I don't have any idea what they are". All I can say is wow. Crazy prices, so many variants, its boggling my mind. My head is only so big, some stuff I need to remember, some I can't forget though. I need to forget something to add more info in.
Among the hunting rifles I just obtained Ive picked up a AG42-B and a couple .303's that have yet to be identified. All seem to be complete and in good to excellent condition. Barrels are bright, stocks good. I just need to get photos so I can research what exactly I got myself into. One 303 won't release the mag (which looks cut down to 5/6 rounds to me), one has the longer 10 round mag. The AG42-B appears to be complete, has a mag (10?), no paperwork. Only downside I can see is a previous owner looks to have scribed the last few of his/her SIN in the metal. They all need to be wiped down, cleaned up some to get the years of closet dust out of them. To his credit, they were stored, as he called it "oiled", but decades of dust is now caked on. Each gun had a little baggie over the muzzle to keep anything from going down the barrel.
I need to get off my butt and research these and get them sold. I have no idea if Im sitting on $500 all combined, or $500 each., or more. AG42-B's seem to be listing on the EE for $1200-$1400, but with the SIN etched into the one I have I doubt I'd break $1000 for it, who knows, maybe Ill part it out and make more money on it, NFC.
