Milsurp Rifles and Handguns Losing Value due to Liberals

YOU guys? if it can hold or use more than 5 then the government will seize it.

No they won't. They haven't seized the hundreds of thousands of guns they banned and they know who has them! (Or at least a lot of them)... They'll tell you to turn it in with zero enforcement and then pat themselves on the back for a job well done while millions of over capacity magazines sit harmlessly in the possession of Canadians...

Oh the last list that Poly/CFGC published was full of older military rifles, including M1 carbines, AG42, SKS, etc.... I would have to go back and look if the M1 Garand was on the list, but they did miss a few, I didn't see the SVT 40 on the last list but they are going after all the 'battle rifles' next. Oh and the Browning Bar, so anything that is semi auto is in their sights.

Your M1 Garand will make the list so you wont need to worry about what is the magazine and what is a enblock clip.

the liberals are more then happy to use this as a wedge issue and to point out all the angry old white guys with their lee enfields that are all pissed off that the mags have to be blocked to 5. After all you don't need to have more then 5 rounds for hunting will be the answer.

M1 Garands and Lee-Enfield rifles are specifically exempted as part of the firearms act - of course, they can just amend that.

From what I read from Calibre and their interview. They brought up the fact the LE has a 10rd mag, and the reply was.

There are of course additional amendments that will impact fewer individuals, such as changes about who will be in charge of Authorizations to Carry, and making requirements that various staff must also prepare annual reports on the registration of gun transfers, and other such issues. However, in terms of broad, reaching legislation, the last component the new Bill C-21 includes is a reference to future regulations coming in the future to limit all long gun magazines so that they can never hold more than five rounds, and prohibiting the sale and transfer of all magazines capable of holding more than the legal number of bullets. When asked to clarify if that would be restricted to semi-automatic firearms, with the example given that the Lee Enfield holds 10-rounds, senior government officials stipulated that the government is currently looking to limit all long gun magazines regardless of action or calibre.

How the F is this going to work?? K31, enfield mags will have to be pinned? Lever tubes welded, 22 rotary magazines?

I hate the thought of butchering these old beauties

They don't give a F what it costs us to have a gunsmith alter these, and what it does to our valuables. In fact I am sure they LOVE the idea this makes them less desirable to own later on. Stop thinking of common sense and look at this from a group that wants us to stop owning guns one day. If they brought out a law making us paint them bright orange I would not be surprised.

I don't think the point was to craft a sensible law that works. Once you get out of that mindset, I think things start to make a bit more sense.

Honestly, I hope they keep making things more onerous. That's the only way that I see some of the less involved gun owners getting motivated to help "push" so to speak.

I honestly think they take pleasure in forcing you to butcher your own property. And for the old stuff, even better. They date from a time when Canada was completely wrong in every possible way and didn't start getting better until Trudeau came along in 2015 to apologize for it and tear it all down. Things have been great since then.....surely.

How many Lee Enfield mags do you figure there are? 1 million? 2 million? Better book your slot at the gunsmith now.

Imagine being so short sighted that you see looming magazine limits placed on everything and you get into a semantic argument about magazines vs. clips.

Denial is a psychological defense mechanism.

When the trudeau "assault rifle ban" was still merely a campaign promise, there were many AR-15 owners declaring to me that they didn't care and weren't doing anything about it because they "knew" they couldn't be affected because their AR-15 isn't technically an assault rifle. This is more of the same.

We all knew that losing our investment was a possibility. I might not sell it but it still hold full value for my use. Yep

its not cute its FACT the m1 Garand uses a clip not a magazine

You think that even crosses the mind of these muppets? Hate to break it to you but their end goal is to see firearms outlawed from civilian hands, they don’t gaf if it takes a box mag or an en bloc or a stripper clip. They’re only looking at the fact you own a baby killing assault weapon and are a killer in the wings.
