Hi bob,
To add to your post here:
We need at least 10 shooters and preferably more to get a go. So far, not ten yet....
Participants have to get on http://www.pqra.org/ to register as we will have target pullers, but we have to advise ahead of time.
I did not see your name in yet.... (-;
We will be pretty loosy goosy on rules and equipment as this is considered simply a fun shoot and intro day to milsurps. We will shoot and score for bragging rights this time. sling, rear bag, bipod, tripod, sand bag etc will be accepted to get you guys started.... only.
For stricter competition format we already have vintage match rules on the website.
We strongly recommend a solid 100 yard zero to start with and good set of binos or spotting scope to check for hits and scores. It is not the place and time to get your boomstick sighted as we will not have time for that.
One rifle will be ok since we will be starting first relay at 200y and move back to the other distances so no chance to sight and shoot 2-3 rifles all along the course.
Once the relay is completed. We move off the firing point and proceed with relay #2 or walk back to next prescribed distance.
We will be using the 600y frame and target and score same at all distances.
Purpose is to get people interested, get some hits and not to shoot for gold.
Period is 1917-1953 milsurps. No restricted. Rifle in as close to original as possible.
No tracers of course. All prone shooting and only prone shooting.
At any stage, anybody whose equipment will not perform reasonably well on target will be invited to put that rifle in gun case. if another rifle is ready and have a solid 100y zero, it is quite possible to continue the match and still have fun.
We may possibly shoot string to keep things a bit simpler for "first time ever" participants.
For additional info. Feel free to PM me with your phone #.
Will be pleased to meet you all in ValCartier.
regards,
cd. ( Secr.-Tres. PQRA)
