Well, I do have a StenMk2 in CA and a PPSh41 in CA too plus an Ishapore (indian made) FN and that's about all for mil surplus. Just bought a StenMk3 in C/A from Ellwood Epps this week (see edit date). So I still have to wait for 2 weeks or so before I get it. Santa came early this year and I'm eagerly waiting for my "ex" Thompson M1928A1DeLuxe to be my own again. Oh, those next 2 weeks are gonna be loooooooooooooong !

Most of what I have has already been mentioned but here are a few that I didn't see:

Bolt: M1917 Enfield .30-06 (Winchester made)
Semi: SVT-38 (1939 Tula)
Revolver: Model 1879 Reichsrevolver (issued 1882 - 5th Bavarian Field Artillery Reg.)

Here are mine...

Rifles
K-98 Mauser
m38 swede
Springfield 1903 (sporterized)
Yugo Mauser M-48
SMLE No.5 Jungle carbine
SMLE mk. III (sporterized)

Handguns

M.A.B .32 pistol

I guess no one else has added their Boyes rifle to the list yet, so I'll submit mine for inclusion. It is a BSA produced mk1, and is about to be rebarrelled to .50 cal. My apologies to the purists out there, but .55 is just too expensive and I only seem to see about 10 rounds a year of the stuff.

Mauser question

I am sorry to add this onto this thread but my computer won't let me start a new thread for some reason. I really hope someone can help me get some info on this rifle.

I have a few questions about a mauser, which i presume to be Israeli because it has a Star of David stamped on the receiver. It has 7.62 stamped into the receiver and also the stock, and a date stamp of 1940 on the receiver as well, along with the numbers 337. This is all the info there is on it. I tried researching it on the net and came up with this from one Q&A website:

----------------------
"Question:
Mauser/ Israeli - K98 - 7.62 - 24 " - Blue - 1568 -
It has a date stamp on the receiver of 1940 & a build code of 337 what factory does the 337 code refer to?

Answer:
Your rifle was made by Gustloff after the company merged with the Berlin Suhl Waffenfabrik (BSW). Law's book lists about 133,000 with this marking, so it is one of the rarer markings on the Kar 98k. When the German army moved to letter codes Gustlof was given the code bcd. "
----------------------

Someone else asked the question, and now im wondering if this mauser I have here (described at top, without any K98 etc) is the same, and how much a rifle like this is worth? Any help in finding out more about this rifle and its value would be greatly appreciated. A friend is interested in buying it but I don't know what it is worth. Thanks!

Not many for me....yet:

Moison-Nagent M44 (1946)
Ljungman AG42B (1943)
Cooey M.82 Trainer

Here's my list of milsurp and military types....... I cannot anticipate getting much more in the near future (Swiss K-31 maybe), as I have yet to fire 20 of the toys below, much less sight them in and become proficient with them! When possible, I have been introducing new shooters to the sport with them though.

About a dozen or so of the rifles listed below were purchased several to ten years ago when the average price of a nice milsurp boltgun was under $100 dollars, while a couple of the more recent purchases (Mannlichers, M91/30 where still within the 125-150 dollar range. One of the Norinco M14's was purchased in kit form from SIR for $230 ten years ago....

1918 Lithgow SMLE (rough bore)
???? Ishapur SMLE
No 4, mk 1
1944 No 5 Jungle Carbine
1944 No 5 Jungle Carbine (with Indian re-inforcement screw...)
1916 Ross M10 (Bubbaized)
M96 Swede
1942 Husquvarna M 38 Swede
Ag42b
1900 M96/38 barrelled reciever
Brno Mauser 98k
Isreali Mauser 98k (7.62)
Isreali Mauser 98k (.22)
FR-8
1955 Polish M44
M91/30
Yugo SKS M59
Yugo Torkarev M70 (9mm)
Chinese SKS
Mannlicher M95 rifle (8x56R)
Mannlicher M95 carbine (8x56R)
1943? Springfield M1 Garand
M1 Carbine

Not quite milsurp but related, add:

CZ 858-2
3x Norinco M14S,
Norinco CQ311
Norinco 97T
Norinco 1911A1
Springfield M6 Scout
Remington 870 with slug barrel

With Regards,

Beadwindow

To add to Annie's question a few posts earlier, the Israeli's tended to make their Mauser 98k's out of mixtures of parts, making them less collectable to some purists, but still nice rifles to the rest of us. While I paid about $120 total for mine nearly 10 years ago, I suppose that condition of the piece determines value today. I have seen 7.62s go for anywhere from close to $200 for one like mine to the $300 range, and would not be surprised if nice ones go for more.
