I've heard mixed reviews about the Mini-14; would it be suitable for 'yote hunting?
I got one of these instead.

Way more accurate.
GSXRMyers thats a Remington model 7615 tactical rifle (pump action, mag fed .223Rem), its the newer model with the adjustable butt stock.

Compared to what? a pellet gun?a high energy round like a 17HMR

As long as reach-out-and-touch-something accuracy isn't necessary, then by all means, it would make a great 'yote gun. I'm currently eyeing my mini-30 and thinking the same thing.![]()
I love my Mini-30 ...
Only problem I had was the factory scope mount screws provided by Ruger had a tendency to loosen themselves with the recoil.
Yeah, you gotta be REAL careful when you're clamping the scope down that the little catch lines up straight when you torque it down. If it's not, then it comes loose. Really annoying design, actually (but really a "no big deal" kind of thing, once properly clamped down).
The question was would a Mini-14 be suitable for yotes. A 223/5.56 round is used for killing humans up to 600+ yards, it would defnitely be suitable for coyotes
