Mini 14s in Paris

I'm spotting both the old wood stocks and black tactical Minis in news photos over the last few days. But they have the old sights on them.

The French and British Police both bought mini14 rifles in the 70s and 80s. I imported some many years ago from the UK I still have one
 
The Royal Ulster Constabulary used the Ruger rifle, because nobody else would sell them rifles, until the Brits bought H&K. So the Mini-14 was the counter terror rifle of the '70s.

Initially they bought M1 carbines, but the constables weren't happy with them.

Edit: They actually got AC556 before the "A" Team. I never saw the Trilux mount above on RUC rifles. But the trunk gun of the RUC was the Ruger. PIRA had the AR-180 in one hand, so the Roberts really needed something with longer range than the Sterling.

Which parts of my statements about the AR15 are ignorant???????

An AR15 is more accurate than a mini14, yahh by a large margin, the nature of the platform makes it so.
FN Herstal: In Belgium, Liege, is 250km northeast of Paris. They make one of the best ARs
manual of arms: last time I checked an AR15 is easier to operate than a mini14. i.e. magazines, bolt release, mag release, sights, trigger.
Adaptability: Pretty much any mission specific ever thought, military or police, bolt ons have been created for the ar15 platform with everything modular from stocks all the way to muzzle devices, triggers and silencers.
Supply chain: Having about half the world use the ar15 sure builds up a nice network of logistics and distribution
After market parts: new products are built specifically with the ar15 platform in mind

Your comments on CGN have been borderline trolling buddy.

seriously ? have you ever operated operationally with a mini ? they are about 10x easier to operate then an ar15.....

- garand style safety easily activated and deactivated
- last round hold open, check
- magazine release easily used with off hand (same as ar15)
- slide release, forward assist AND charging handle all conveinatly the same handle

anyone that thinks an ar15 is harder to run then an ar15 is silly.....
 
I remember talking to Earl Green in the mid 2000s. Him saying OPP ERT was still using Mini 14's and they haven't got their C8s yet.

Mini 14s are pretty easy to use. Not agree not as accurate. But what you expect from sqr. He got negative feedback from a troll, He tried to troll and backfired.

How can we take you seriously.... youve probably never even handled a mini 14
 
Ruger Mini 14s have been in production since 1973 ; and have been very popular sellers . I have two myself , and have never had a problem . They are certainly not a target rifle , but it was never designed to be a target rifle.....plus they are non-restricted , and reasonable in price....

yes I have for quite a few years
no I will never handle one again

opinions vary, mine is set.

I'll shoot my ARs while you guys hunt down suppliers for your magazines, fine with me.

I was concerned about your "inaccurate" comment because it's false. Explained to me if you think this grouping is good or bad and if MOA is really relevant in a gun battle. These holes where made by an AK that is supposedly more accurate then any mini. I will agree with you the AR is a better rifle and has superior accuracy compared to a mini but, the mini is not as bad as many say.

Your saying a AK is accurate? Your really out to lunch. AK's are know for being the toughest and most reliable gun out there, not known for being accurate. I don't think he was really trying for MOA groups there, He was spraying and praying for his life. So what your point?
