mini 14's

I have an Accu-strut on one of my Minis. I haven't compared on vs. off accuracy directly but I can't say it helps since my rifle with the strut doesn't seem significantly more accurate. I just really like the look.

i really like it.
has a tacky feel for cold or sweaty hands, doesn't mind the knocks & bumps from toting it in the bush.

Thanks, Did you buy it in Canada, if so where, or the U.S? If you don't mind me asking and you did buy it in Canada, what was the pricing up here? You can buy these stocks all day in the U.S. for about $100.00 CDN

good question..if i recall i bought it off ebay lol.
it was used & got a low bid with reasonable shipping.
i have seen them come up on the EE occasionally.
if you have no luck, send me a pm...i've owned a few mini's over the years & probably have
another stock sitting with some surplus parts.

I had owned one. I just wish that ruger made the new mini able to share AR magazines.

Come on ruger... it would be so nice

I have a 583 series mini. It has about 500 rounds through it now. It has been 100% reliable with any off the shelf ammo I could find to feed it. Had it out today and I was getting consistent 3/4" to just over 1" five shot groups at 50m. This was with a Bushnell TRS-25.

Were those rapid fire shots? That accuracy is definitely good enough for me!
Anyone know about getting the tactical model with the flash hider etc..in Canada? I keep seeing the ranch model, but looking for a tactical model ideally in a wood stock. It will probably end up in one anyways.
Any basic accessories or tweeks/tips that a buyer would want to be aware of? Grease on certain parts being a garand style action etc...

Thanks man, I appreciate that... I see them on Ebay all the time. I'm still thinking about which color to go with. I was reading that a lot of guys with these rifles complain about the gun ejecting the brass into the next postal code, do you think an adjustable gas block might be a good option?

Mine looks exactly like yours except I have a Burris MTAC 1.5-6x42 scope on it with the Ballistic CQ Reticle. Can't wait to get out and shoot this thing.....Nice Groupings BTW...

Tactical models are restricted due to barrel length, so no one bothers to bring them in

Anyone try the barrel strut stabilizer ?
I'm happy with the way mine shoot but have been thinking of getting one for my early gun .

i put one on mine and compared, i cant remember the exact % but i think it was like a 24% increase in accuracy???
you will have to decide if the price of them outweighs the increase in accuracy.

dude, your more accurate with that crappy red dot on yours than i am with a Vortex on mine!!!!

i picked up the gen4 adjustable gas block from brownells, fits perfectly & installed easily.
i played with the dial & watched my ejected brass come closer & closer (from about 30 feet to 10).
i stopped there because i didn't want to hurt it's reliability.
i'll probably play some more after i mark the sweet spot on the regulator. i'm curious to see how much more adjustment there is
before i start getting stoppages or turn it into a single shot.
i saw a noticeable difference in perceived muzzle flip & recoil if you can call it that lol.
for me anyway, it was worth it.

I was surprised the mini grouped so well. But this is only at 50m. The dot would cover 3 inches at 100m. That being said the mini was a lot more accurate than my SKS and Type 81.
