Mini cannon.

Question regarding fuses... Could one use a bit of pan gunpowder in the touch-hole and use a linstock to ignite it?

While the method works, the advantage of a fuse is that you can bend the end over a bit before you put the fuse down the touch hole and when you push the fuse in, it will bend and go along the powder chamber. The significants is that you have a burning flame for a longer time, inside the chamber, which reduces the risk of failure to fire

Try contacting Caroline supplies in Caroline, AB. They sell thinner cannon fuse that will likely fit, but I don't know if they will ship. It's worth a try.

I just picked up fuse from Caroline Supplies, and I can confirm it is thinner than Budget Shooter Supply's fuse (and much cheaper at $12/50 feet instead of $1/foot). I can't confirm fit with the pocket cannon just yet, as I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

i just ordered 100 ft from Caroline supply. It is just over 2 mm but I think it should work. I will let you know if it gets here before GeoTrekr gives his findings.

Just got the fuse. It is just a little to big. I think I am going to drill one of my cannons out just a little and see if that works.

You only need to open it up the slightest amount and the fusing works.

Woppee I have cannons.

If the size is that close, why not try twisting the fuse a wee bit tighter to decrease the diameter before you break out the drill?

Be very careful drilling, I did the same to one of my mini's, went the next size up in my drill bit set ( dont recall the size exactly, its a 40 pc. set), turns out its too big, the charge pfffttted out the fuse hole and now there's a ball stuck in it, it's now a wallhanger...so to speak
My friend gave me a bunch of ladyfinger firecrackers, and that fuse is perfect, I also found that most of the firecracker/fireworks fuses seemed to fit. kind of an expensive way to get fuse, but at least the cannon would still work. Worth it to find the right size fuse I think.
Just my .02

I have few rolls of Thermalite igniter cord left over from my cannon shootings days. It is the pink box, slow speed, wire wrapped stuff that is 1/16th inch in diameter and comes in 33 foot lengths. I don't know how much I have left but if anyone is interested shoot me a PM and I will take a look in the storage bunker. Oh, ya...it is expensive stuff as it is not your typical "Visco" style laquered product. This stuff can be ignited with a match or lighter and if you want to get fancy via electrical methods.

I went to my local gun store and found these traditions mini cannon kits in 50 cal. What an awesome idea!! They have 2 kinds. one was 299 and second 249. I want it for early Christmas gift.!
