Lol a Rabbit and a Donkey using automatic weapons.. and your worried that the RPGs "fly to slow" HAHAHAH
Ahh man, that made my afternoon...
Yeah, I see that! Does seem a bit strange now that I think about it.
On the other hand, I remember from my English lit classes, a concept called "The willing suspension of disbelief". In other words, you have to accept certain things you know to be wrong/impossible/silly to enjoy the story. Most Science Fiction is like that, and Anthropomorphic bunny-rabbits talking and shooting guns certainly fits!
I just have a thing about realism in movies. I know Bruce Willis is not a SEAL, he is an actor, but I "willingly suspend my disbelief" when I see him playing a SEAL in a movie. BUT, I loose some or all of that disbelief if he does something to damage the illusion. Bad "hollywood" gunhandling, bursts longer than the mag allows etc are good examples, and to me, the usual "hollywood" slow motion big white smoke trail RPG is a particular pet peeve.
They went to the trouble to make the scope view realistic (hollywood wierd unrealistic reticle/fake electronic range finder scope views are another pet peeve), yet they still went with the "hollywood" RPG. Lord knows there is enough stock footage of RPGs being fired in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I know it is irrational, but it still bugs me.
I still think the movie looks cool, and I will try to find it.
Slightly off topic, but similar "cool guns" factor is another Anime series called "Gunslinger Girl". The characters are sailor moon style schoolgirls working as brainwashed assassins for some sinister Italian government black program. They use unusual firearms (Berretta 93r, Walther sniper rifles, SIGs etc) which is cool, but the Japanese "schoolgirl" thing is a little creepy.
