My take on the MK18 MOD0 craze that seems to have been sweeping the BR community (I call it the Mock 18 mod -K). Made from a Stag 10.3" G1 top end. The Stag has some nice features like taper pins, 1/7" twist MP tested bolt, enhanced semi carrier, Crane upgrades. This one has a KAC FH, KAC RIS, LMT BUIS, Gasbuster. Pics show with it on a 6920 lower though it now has a Stag lower with the LMT stock and H2 Buffer. Enjoy.

Oooh nice, cool RIS ;). Unusual choice for the barrel, so you decided not to sacrifice the Gov't profile 16.1"? It sooo needs a KAC QD FH, I might have a spare in a week or two. And a Mk 18 clone is just not complete without a SOPMOD stock. Here's mine for now, repost but that post dissapeared quickly:





Still waiting on a few bits, I'll be replacing the QRP mount with an authentic Wilcox Industries mount and the bikini lens cover will go too. Will also use a CQD rear sling mount single-point sling attachment, London Bridge Tactical sling and SureFire M962C (throw-lever model with clickie-tailcap). Man these things add up quickly.
 
Hey dude, that is the 16.1" skinny...cut down, turned out nice and has a nice crown on it too. I kinda like the Vltor FH, the KAC is gonna go on my 6920/921 gun. Just need to find a cheaper Aimpoint to put in the PRI mount and will keep the M4 stock on it too and leave the LMT stock for the 921. It is gonna be a while before I get her running though as I doubt I will get luck with the port sizing, like I said before Crane uses a .070 port size but that is for a .750 barrel profile, this being a .625 it will be different. I have a feeling it will end up at about .065 or so...only down side is that because of the lower I am using I cannot use a M16 carrier hence the H2 buffer.

I think it is just fun to build, and the thought that maybe they know something you don't...but at days end a simple 14.5" with a rail seems to work best for me...
 
The reason I went with 12" rail on a 10.5" bbl length was to cover the KX3 and still have fixed FSB. DD had that kind of option in their 12" rails.

Owning 10.5 9mm 10.5" 5.56, 14.5", 16" car gas, 16" middy , 18" SPR all free floated with DD rails my latest build is very simple.

16" LMT upper, and Troy folding BUIS - that it. I have come a full circle.

Actually folks should be happy if I sell this one, little 'ole me will have a sold a gun that actually works (IBS):evil: Now back on topic. which sight? LMT or KAC 300m??? If I go with the KAC it I will have replicated my 14.5" set up.
