I don't think you can loose getting either one.(I have a HW97KT in .177)
Reports are that the Tx200 is smoother out of the box than the 97.
I have tried a couple of different combinations of springs and seal kits in my rifle, not because the factory set up was bad,just because I like to tinker.
My gun is shooting a very consistent 860fps with JSB Exact 8.4gr 4.52mm pellets.
I have not shot the TX200 but have 15,000+ pellets through my 97 and it still impresses me.(it's heavy though)
In the field (hunting/plinking) I use a two shoulder backpack type sling to carry it.
