I am not trying to pick my battle with you gents. I consider you guys (and gals) my peers. It is the often senseless way legislation is written by lawmakers that I would like to battle with. (David and Goliath comes to mind) The test of time will show how this gathered information is being used. I hope it is for the better and not ignored.

I understand where you're coming from when you say you don't have to like it, there is a lot of mandated crap I dislike but do anyways. As far as this goes I do think this is a good thing also. It is pretty seamless completing the survey and really how else will they know what the success rates are ??
Most of us remember having to go to the check stations, now that was a pain in the arse ! As far as the calling in to report, I doubt that was working with any accuracy.

When attempting to log in, you must first put a check mark in the agree to (legal mumble jumble), or the cursor will spin.

And to be honest, my faith in meaningful data being collected, and then used appropriately is not that high. Consider the collapse of the Maritime fishery in the past, the Ontario mose hunt, and the recent BC sport fishing closures. All done in conjunction with lots of data.
That is all.

Don't forget the bears... the Ontario spring bear season and the BC grizzly hunt...

At least we have lived to see a reversal in the Ontario Spring bear hunt... and hopefully one day, back to a well managed grizzly hunt.

my WMU only has spring Turkey.
When i contacted MNR about getting fall they said it was because the harvest numbers were too low. They had to assume based on what was reported that there weren't enough birds to support a second hunt.

The palace is overrun with birds the issues is everyone out there either cant shoot straight (me) or is not calling in to fill the tag.
I especially liked the part where it asked how many you saw.

I hope this will show what the real numbers are get me my fall Turkey!!!

Not where I live in 86A - guess I should have clarified that point about expanding the turkey season.

I understand the fall season where allowed is only two weeks - is that correct?

12 days for shotgun and 1 month for bow.

always a bonus when bow hunting for deer to have a turkey walk past with a tag in the pocket!
