why not? a hun for a mag only makes it 300 hun total, still a good deal, I believe. I've seen a couple 88's in 243. Ain't never hugged a 358, though!
300 hun would be $30,000.00, so maybe not such agreat deal....even for an 88! LOL!
^^
lol I thought the same thing until I saw the gun. The only stamp other then the serial # was the Savage 99 and it's really small and half covered by one of the scope rings. It took me a few minutes to find it![]()
Not a bit surprised at the Win. 88 come Savage 99.
It is amazing how many hunters do not know what brand of rifle they have. I couldn't count how many gun owners have told me they had a Springfield rifle, when reality they had a rifle of some sort, chambered for the 30-06.
A woman wanted to order mounts for her "30-06" rifle, and got real snotty when I said I would have to see the rifle. She snorted, "It's a 30-06, why would you have to see it!"
Others have told me they had a 308 rifle, but couldn't tell me what kind, when I asked them. The common answer was "Winchester," because it used 308 Winchester ammunition.

Yep, have had the same conversation way too many times. I just think to myself I'm glad everyone has the right to own firearms in Canada.....BUT.......................
There will be a 1950's vintage Winchester 88 (243) for sale at the upcoming May 5th show in Fort Frances, Ontario.
I know the owner and have seen the rifle.
P.S.- I have a few 88 mags here.
