My personal experience with $1000+ Vortex optics is not great, I'll probably never buy another one.
You don't mention a specific model but that's fine, I don't put too much value on anecdotal evidence. I'll put faith in pretty much any optic that Delta Force fields though.

Delta guys can pretty much put whatever the #### they want on their guns. Just because one guy uses a particular optic doesn't mean "DELTA FIELDS THIS OPTIC".
Also, I wouldn't be posting unblurred pictures on the Internet if these two are active duty Delta.
Yet it appears consistently in photos of Delta and other high speed units. The credibility is there whether you think it passed full USSOCOM trials or whether a handful of them went out of their way to select it over all other LPVOs.

I've had a few of Vortex' offerings. They've all failed in one way or another.

I can say the same of Nightforce.
Rick could say the same of Schmidt.
Bfranklin seems to say the same of Vortex.
Moral of the story, I guess we all should have bought Tasco. That's the reason you never read only one persons' opinion.

My Vortex PST Gen 1 6-24x50 FFP has broken 3 times, once on a .308 and twice on a semi .223. Don't know where it was manufactured.
The other Vortex that broke was a Razor HD LH on a .308 win. Reticle shift within 300 rounds. This scope is made in Japan.
I've also had a Schmidt & Bender 3-20x50 show up broken from Germany after waiting 8 months on a special order. Illumination didn't work.

Looks good. Is there a reason why you put your scope mount on backwards?

Guys are requesting a parts breakdown, which I think is a good idea. Also cost of build, which may not be a good idea.
I will try and get the 1 I posted priced out when I get some time.
Are these 15" Faxon CF hand guards?
