We don't have MSRs here, as we can't actually use them in th field.....
NOtsorichguy, what do you mean we don't have MSR's here?
I do, and that is what I use it for.
A modern sporting rifle is a hunting or varmit rifle built off an AR 15 pattern. Ergo since our AR 15s are range only firearms they cannot be MSRs.....
By this I assume you say that you have rifle built off an AR pattern that you take to the USA to hunt prairie dogs or some such. If not then please set me straight.
An ACR, XCR, Tavor or RFB (just to name a few) are not "Modern Sporting Rifles" as they are not built off of an AR15 pattern......
I suppose the new wood is out of the question?
You did say please......
By calling non-restricted semis Modern Sporting Rifles we, the shooting community, are framing the category instead of the antis, and this will really be the crux of the argument when any arguments around reclassification happens in the future. Reframing the argument accurately reframes the gun from assault rifle to a noble tool and hunting/sporting implement which is exactly what it is. It takes the user to a supposed higher category from mall ninja to noble hunter and marksmen.
Non the less I would still call the AR a sporting rifle, because it is used in legitimate shooting sports.
Modern sporting rifles? How about we sing some songs and write poetry while we're at it.
