I would have been all over one of these if I thought there would be a version under 7lbs. I think the lightest your going to see is at 8lbs.

I think <7lbs is doable if you get a shorter CF handguard, light weight stock, and the lightest barrel option available, whether that be the light profile or Proof CFW profile I am not sure. Mine should be pretty light with a Sopmod stock, Proof CFW barrel, and a 15" CF handguard but it won't be the lightest as I am not going for the lightest but rather the lightest option available with the features I desire.

I think mine should be under 8 lbs as well. I went with CFB , CTR stock and 14 inch Fortis hand guard. I could probably shave a couple ounces with a 13 inch BCM hand guard .

I pretty much have the same set up as you Brian, I have an MFT Battlelink Minimalist buttstock ordered to swap with the TACMOD mine's coming with if I'm not shooting benchrest.
Should be pretty light weight , just need a light optic for plinking in the woods

I went with the base model ,A2 stock ,and thin barrel I had to go as cheep as I can on this build after getting the MH and a extra upper
I must be crazy I have no idea if I will like hunting with a black rifle
Right now my Favorite rifle is T/C ProHunter it's a big Learning curve I'm going through haha

Hunting with this should be no diff than anything else. For me , I like the idea of it having a few purposes. Hunting/ bush plinking/range shooting.

So CFB makes more sense for me as its light and don't heat up as quick.

My next hunting/range gun will be a .308 build. Fierce Titanium action and Proof CFW Barrel.

Been bouncing back and forth between a Zeiss Conquest HD5 3-15X42, and the Nightforce SHV 3-10x42. Anyone have any thoughts?
I had a zeiss conquest 3-15 and a SHV 5-20. I found the SHV to be the better scope. I think either a high mag of around 20 or a 1-6 is the way to go. 10 mag is not ideal unless it's a hunting rifle only.

Majority of use will be at the range target shooting. But also will use it for coyotes.
I think the higher magnification would be better suited for both of those applications. Besides the two I already mentioned , I also had a Burris Veracity 3-15( not bad) and a bushnell elite 3.5-16 ( not to good.. For me anyway.). I'm thinking the VX6 3-18 or a Sightron... But who knows :)

Eventually I will go with a low powered scope I am only interested using MV and MH for hunting
I use a 22LR for practicing I'm cheep that way haha

Decisions decisions lol

Is a weight a serious concern? not familiar with Zeiss Conquest scopes, but Nightforce scopes are generally quite heavy although extremely durable.

Target shooting at the range and Coyotes, sounds like the more magnification the better (to a point anyways); I'd be looking at a variable with a max. x12 to x18 power myself. Also regarding the scope Brianma65 mentions, I've only heard good things regarding Sightron optics from trusted and knowledgeable sources.

Cheers D
