Modern Varmint Rifle Updated Oct 14 2015

That's a far cry from a spring delivery date. i don't think arts should put est delivery dates on the web site. I'm not trying to stir up trouble at all but the lack of information given to some of us about our $3600-5000 purchase is not good. Shaun messaged on here at the beginning of June stating maybe a few more weeks. Now Rick is saying July or August ?

Pretty sure they initially said June/July for first deliveries back when the rifles originally went on sale. You have another month and a half before you can start complaining. Jeez I thought I was impatient... quit calling you ####s so they can get back to work on my rifle :p.

Unfortunately shot happens, in this case parts manufacturers miss delivery estimates and that there for causes delays to ATRS' deadline. Be happy it is coming, we are lucky to have this option.

I had to wait a long time for the 338 upper it just one of those things that comes with the custom rifle

It is going to get interesting this winter seeing you guys that are getting the MV for coyote hunting im curious to see how the rifle performs in freezing conditions
I mite have to find a new hunting partner that hunts coyotes this winter up in Northern Alberta seeing how it looks like I'm back up there pipeline this winter

the Manufacturer (ATRS) would love to get every item out ASAP so they can bill the customers! why would they intentionally delay the MV when they stand to make money. also the more delay the more in lost revenue because they cant start on the second batch, cnc machines are maybe down because the jig is already set up for the MV, . also everything needs to be timed properly with the suppliers and if one thing is late then it would push back everything else. a lot goes into manufacturing goods. have patience.

It was the same supply problem with the modern Hunter, but when they were finally done the fit and finish on my rifle was perfect. So to get a rifle with that perfection takes time. Shaun one question? Do the barrels still have to be sent out for Cera coatings when they arrive?

We have never had to send out barrels for CeraKote. We do all of our CeraKote inhouse. The only things we do not do inhouse is the heat treating, salt bath nitriding of steel parts and the anodizing of the aluminum parts.
All of these processes are very specialized and require equipment and expertise we do not have, yet. Even within the companies that do specialize in these processes it took us several tries to find "the right" companies to deal with.

Just curious if we can get an general update on the mv's. I had called at the beginning of June and there was no change on what I was told weeks before and told to call back in July. My other question is with the incident in Orlando . And people now buying ar's and Ar parts like crazy will that be another set back to the production run.

The parts that we do not manufacture in-house such as the barrels, triggers and furniture we ordered several months ago. The biggest reason we take deposits is to get firm orders so we know what we need to order. The parts ordered from outside suppliers we get best guesstimates on delivery for but they are not set in stone time frames.
There are far too many variables like customs, potential postal strikes and such that is waaaaay beyond our control. This will all change when I rule the world.
As it sits at this instant we have all of our part done, we are waiting for barrels that are currently held in customs, some furniture and the buffer assemblies that were late in shipping. Once these show up which expect to be very soon rifles will be assembled, test fired and clients contacted.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to speed things up.:(

Thanks for the update guys. I know you have a stricken qc program. Just curious as to how many rounds you run through the it for the test fire ?

No firm number, so as many as it takes to prove the gun is reliable. Most get 2 x 10 round mags fired through them, which is the minimum to pass QC requirements, others require some tweaking so get test fired until they can run the 20 rounds through without a hiccup.

Has anyone gotten theirs yet?

Not yet, but things are really starting to fall into place.

I sure hope so, I put all my eggs in one basket with this and am getting sick of shooting .22... Lol.
But I did hear some SS barrels have showed up, so should be soon.

We have received a lot of the SS barrels, uppers and lowers are done and waiting, just waiting on the last couple of parts to arrive before we can begin assembling!

Hey Shaun, that's great for the SS guys! :) Bit what about us CFW guys?
Also just to be clear, I've only ever called the shop to make a payment, and maybe ask a question or two after the payment was processed. Most of my question have been here.
And I know you guys can only do what you can do and I'm not PO, just anxious to get her.
So any news is good.
Thanks

Speaking of .22lr, any chance of a modded bolt to shoot .22lr out of our MV? That could be fun!...and more importantly inexpensive lol

Not with the CMMG system. Not sure about any of the other makers as we don't have 1 here to check if it could be modified. We will look at others when at SHOT Show come January.
At this point however the answer is not likely.

Duly noted, and we never thought any differently. Waiting sucks, what can I say.

Hey Shaun I forgot do they come with a flash hider or just threaded barrel?

They come with what ever you ordered. Flash hider, brake, thread protector...

The flash hider/ brake/ thread protecter is an extra cost. It's all listed on their build sheet.

The barrels all come threaded, but as we don't know if people are going with a muzzle device we leave that open to your discretion. We would certainly recommend putting something on the threads, be it a flash hider, muzzle brake, or thread protector.
