Modern varmint

I'm making hornady vmax ,for 50 cents a pop.
AE cost 60 cents a piece,at my local store.
So are you guys really getting it that much cheaper?

Yes!!! Only thing the higher the octane is it is actually harder to ignite, not slower to burn. And dumping 110 octane in a untune care will result in a loss in performance.

What year wrx do you run? I got a 2009 sti at the moment.

04 rebuilt with Manley forged pistons, rods and stroker crank (from a 2.5L motor). Still on stock turbo for now but did 197hp to the wheels on the all wheel drive dyno in Calgary when I had my tune done. Looking for 300+ to the wheels when I stop buying guns for a while and put some more into the car.

Light primer strikes with hirtenberger, the Timney doesn't have a heavy hammer spring, you could change the spring if you wanted. If you want to spend 4K+ on a rifle and choose to feed it some cheap ammo cool, it's your gun. It's not like you can't change the barrel, isn't that one of the reasons these rifles are so popular? The modularity of the design?

The index pin is at 6 o'clock instead of 12 o'clock so a standard AR barrel won't just drop in (unless that was only with the MH but I'm sure I'll be corrected if I got that mixed up).
It could be done but it's not as simple as just buying a regular cheap AR barrel. You would need to have a machinist move the pin for you first.

When I rode with you I thought the next investment should be a roll cage... :p

Pretty nice! What compression are you running?

Can't remember, I'd have to look it up again, 16psi is all the little factory turbo can make though. Next turbo will hopefully be Borg Warner 6258 EFR, want more flow but retain quick spool up. Gonna be just over $5k with new fuel pump and ID 1000 injectors.

Should be ok to run regular unleaded unless I'm headed to the races? No need for a fresh dyno tune either. Cheaper that way right? Nothing like spending big bucks on the car then feeding it garbage to save a couple bucks. Performance means nothing as long as it looks cool and I can tell my friends how fast it could be. No worries, I'll just replace the pistons every 7000km since I don't plan to drive it much anyway.
