Xlnt , no fear or good judgement.

I think a lot of folks learned their lesson from the Beowulf mag debacle and bought up lots of other stanag mags as they became available… stacking them deep. When the 458 socom mags came out last year I bought up 30.

I keep at least 10 mags per rifle. Doesn’t matter if I have multiple rifles taking the same mags, they get at least 10 each. Especially when it comes to 3 gun, like another member said on this thread, they are consumable items. Pmags being the cheapest stanag option these days, makes for a tear shed moment when one of these “boutique” caliber mags get broken or beyond use.

.
Because I buy new licensees Marlin 795's, I tend to pick-up magazines for them whenever they show up... :yingyang:

Sometimes it's hit-and-miss finding the 10-rounders at a good price, so it's a very lucky thing that the Promags for the 795 actually work quite well.... :)

Good post. I never thought too much about it before now. So, I looked at just my spare mags.

I seem to do a lot of rimfire shooting/practicing in cold months. Because rimfire ammo is so temperature sensitive, I prefer to keep it in the warm truck when I’m at the range. I try have enough mags for each gun to utilize a full box of ammo (50 rounds minimum). I reload mags in the comfort of the warm truck. When I’m outside shooting I keep the extra loaded mags in my pocket. As a result of this, I haven’t noticed a serious decline in rimfire accuracy in the cold...but I’ve acquired a few extra mags in the process.

Ithaca Clips Galore

Great thread - I have 26 Ithaca X5, X15 Lightening 22 caliber magazines for six and ten round capacities. I have been collecting these since I was 14, now pretty close to 75 but never wanted to take time out from shooting to reload when out on the gopher patch. Can anybody tell me if this is a record?

I''m impressed especially knowing the cost of Annie & Sako mags.

The thing about the Annie mags is they are are utilized on so many rifles that I have (or used to have)...including Anschutz M64, M1710, M1712, M1727, Weatherby and a number of Cooper M57’s in 22LR and 17HM2. Probably others that I can’t think of. So I acquired them over many years, they don’t seem to wear out so I never considered the price excessive.
Regarding the Sako’s and many of the others, I worked in a sporting store that sold new and used firearms. I picked up a few that came in with used rifles and others at wholesale price.
Of possible interest, I don’t recall ever having a failure where the mag couldn’t be fixed and saved (I think it’s possible with the some of the plastic ones...but it’s never happened...yet).

I have a shelf with bins divided up to store the main magazines. Just for my Ipsc guns alone I have 30 + mags for each gun. Plus I collect some for future pay back. Case in point. Lee enfied is mags..new in wrapper. Just like rare wine.. You can never have enough. Yes it tough when you start out, but play the long game. It takes 30+ years and you get momentum.

I wish I bought more Winchester 1907 351 WSL mags when I seen the odd one at gun shows. I thought $50 for one was ridiculous then. They are now $300 if you can find one. I have 2 so I should be happy.

Nice collection. For a while (and maybe still) it was hard to find in stock CZ 455/457 mags (10 rounders). The local store had a 25 round banana mag that I was shocked never sold and it was original CZ and so I decided to buy it thinking I outsmarted them all. Afterwards I realized why it was the only CZ magazine left unsold (even the 5 rounders were always out of stock - a 25 banana mag looks absolutely ridiculous on a 457.

I've recently acquired 14 mags for my newly purchased Kriss Vector CBR 22lr.

Yea , I shoot 1710 , 1717 & Cooper 57m .22 , .17 HMR all of these are rebuildable and interchangable.

Investment in Time

More time shooting , less time reloading at the Range.

Annie/Cooper .17 HMR

Time to invest in 5 round magazines? If sock boy gets in my stash won’t be worth Sh$$. It’s not like there are a lot of magazines floating around, especially in some calibers and according to site sponsors that I-have checked out they’re mostly back ordered. As in way back ordered!
