Moose and Nosler etip bullets...observation.

I'll have to do that next time I have a lead pot fired up. I was curious because Ballistic tips and Accubonds aren't really a cup and core. The 120 gr 7mm Ballistic tip is a weird one; it's 3/4s jacket. The Woodleigh is an easy opening bullet that sheds about as much weight as a Partition. Fast killer.

Interesting. Although I did notice the 130bt is basically the same length as the 150 partition in 277cal, so having a lot of lighter jacket material would help account for that.

I think that's why he added the smiley at the bottom. Also the federal trophy bonded tip.

Or the swift a-frame... Lots of good bullets these days...

I just found some pictures of 168 grain E-Tip performance (300 WSM) on a "soft" animal. The mule deer was broadside at ~150 yards.

The bullet expanded just fine as far as I am concerned.

I used to head shoot Moose if under 100 yards....so they don't run away....lol....but I learnt that the animals didn't bleed out well.

I now aim for both lungs....the animals bleed and it makes the meat better....unless you want cups of blood in your meat?

I just about tagged one with a GMC this morning, but both the cow and myself both got on the brakes. It was about as close as you're going to get.

Lol...first time i read this I read GMX then I looked at it again and seen GMC! When I was wrenching for a local trucking company the fleet from our terminal got 17 moose in one season....one single driver got 3 that year!

I was curious so threw a few Accubonds in the lead pot just to see how much of the bullets were actually copper or gilding metal. Turns out that they are over half copper, or half mono if you look at it that way.

The melted out husks were

.284 160 gr--------------88 grains

.308 150 grain-----------85 grains

.308 180 grain----------95 grains

.308 200 grain----------105 grains.

in my wtaer jugs bullet test for the 9.3 never found an accubond, but that little test proved me that some bullets are better than others. i really like the aframe.
