Shot a cow 2 yrs ago with 150gn Hornady interlocks in a .30-06 Double lung, out the other side, 260 yds. She went 50 yds and laid down. Not worried about firepower if I have a .30 under my arm. Dad used his .30-30 for moose and deer. Always came home with a moose. I used a .303Br and this year my wife will use a .303Epps.
Why?? Because you don't need a cannon to get the job done. You need skills and patience.
Johnn, if I were to ever actually own a magnum, it would be the .308 Norma Magnum.
The rule in BC to hunt moose I think is a 175gr bullet that retains 2000flb of energy @ 100meters is the minimum. Or that could be for Bison. I can't really remember.
That requirement is for Bison, not moose.
